Exactly on 19th July 2025, 15 years have passed since the entry into force of the Act of 17th December 2009 on pursuing claims in group (class) proceedings.
We invite you to read the brochure entitled ‘Group proceedings in Poland after 15 years’, which summarises the functioning of class action regulations in Poland since the Act came into force.
The brochure presents data on the number and types of cases brought before the courts, a description of the most high-profile and interesting cases (from the disaster of the hall of International Trade Fair in Katowice, through the case of mBank’s clients (so-called nabici w mBank), to Dieselgate and environmental cases) and an overview of case law.
The brochure was prepared by a team of experts from the KKG Legal Class Action Practice – Agnieszka Trzaska-Śmieszek (the leader of the Practice), Maria Luszpinska and Magdalena Osmeda.
The material is the result of many years of observation of how class action in Poland works in practice, analysis of the regulations and case law, as well as our own experience in representing clients in class actions, both on the claimant and defendant side.
